Butterscotch Crisp Cookies from the Kitchen of Mattie Terakami

“I always remember my Grandparent’s house smelling like these butterscotch crisp cookies around the holidays. My Maw-Maw would always store them in tin containers, but could never hide them from my Paw-Paw who would sneak handfuls at a time. Ingredients

¾ cup Butter (softened)

1 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar

1 Unbeaten Egg

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

½ Cup Chopped Pecans

2 Cups Self-Rising Flour

 

Directions

1. Cream butter with mixer

2. Gradually add brown sugar

3. Add egg, vanilla and pecans and mix well

4. Blend in flour a little at a time and mix well

5. Shape dough into balls on a greased cookie sheet

6. Flatten with a fork

7. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown

 

Homemade Sugar Cookies from the Kitchen of Jillian Oubre

Ingredients

1 cup softened butter

1 ¼ cups of granulated sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 ½ cups all purpose flour

½ tsp baking soda

½ baking powder

¼ tsp salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

2. Cream softened butter with sugar until light and fluffy

3. Add egg, vanilla extract and beat until combined

4. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix until combined.

5. Roll dough until 1” balls and roll in sugar. Place on baking sheet about 2” apart.

6. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool, decorate and enjoy!

 

Homemade Gingerbread Cookies from the Kitchen of Parker Sylvester

I like to keep decorating simple and classic with just piped royal icing. We always give these to our neighbors, and they are a hit every year. Ingredients

10 tbs softened butter

¾ cup packed brown sugar

2/3 cup molasses

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 ½ cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1 tbs cinnamon

½ tsp ground allspice

½ tsp ground cloves

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 and line baking sheet with parchment paper

2. Beat together softened butter for 1 min until smooth, add packed brown sugar and molasses. Beat until combined

3. Add egg and vanilla extract

4. Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, all spice, and ground cloves until combined

5. Divide dough in half, pat into disk shapes. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 3 hours or up to 3 days.

6. Flour work surface. Roll out dough to ¼” thick. Cut into shapes. Place 1” apart on baking sheets.

7. Bake for 10 min. Cool and enjoy!

Botnick Bark from the Kitchen of Ashley Carey

“My mom and grandmothers have made this dessert for as long as I can remember. It will absolutely be something I will continue to make and pass down to future generations! It is easy to make and everyone loves it!” – Ashley Carey, Digital Marketing Manager

 

Ingredients

1-2 bags of chocolate chips

½ Box of Ritz Crackers (or in our family we use matzah)

1/3 cup of Butter

¾ cup Brown Sugar

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

2. Lay out parchment paper on a pan and cover parchment paper by lining up crackers next to each other

3. Melt butter and brown sugar together for 5 minutes. Pour over crackers

4. Put baking sheet in oven for 5 minutes

5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baking sheet then put back in oven for 2-3 minutes until chocolate is melted

6. Remove from oven and smooth the chocolate out with a back of the spoon.

7. Add in toppings if wanted (nuts, pretzels, mint, etc!)

8. Place in freezer until frozen (usually about 20 minutes)

9. Take out, break up the bark and serve!

 

Baked Brie with Cranberry from the Kitchen of Riley Hooper

“This baked brie is my favorite holiday dish because it is so easy and always a crowd pleaser! My mom makes this almost every night leading up to Christmas while we figure out what we are going to actually eat for dinner. Not only does my entire family love this, our dogs have been known to jump up on the counter just for this dish! Ingredients

16 oz round of Brie

16 oz can whole berry cranberry sauce

¼ cup firmly-packed light brown sugar

2T Captain Morgan’s spiced rum

½ tsp ground nutmeg

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 500

2. Trim rind from top of Brie, leaving 1/3 inch border of the rind on the top

3. Place brie on an aluminum foil-covered baking sheet or in a small pie pan

4. Stir together cranberry sauce, brown sugar and spiced rum

5. Spread the mixture evenly over the top of the brie

6. Bake Brie at 500 degrees for 10 minutes

7. Bake Brie at 500 degrees for 10 minutes

Ingredients

Rolo Creamy Caramels

Pretzels

Christmas Colored M&M’s

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grab large baking sheet

2. Add pretzel’s on a single layer on baking sheet.

3. Unwrap Rolo and place one on top of each pretzel.

4. Bake for 3 mins.

5. Remove from oven. Add one M&M on top of each rolo.

6. Allow the pretzels to cool until the chocolate is firm.

7. Enjoy!
